24" Omnijig

Answer provided by Scott Phillips

Q: I have the 24”  Omi-Jig.  I have one heck of a time in setting it up.  The main difficulty is in getting the left side setup exactly matching the right side.  The video looks easy but I still have difficulty.  Is there a setup jig available to make this a little easier?  Any suggestions?
A: Hi Ron, I too have the same problem with the old Omni Jig. I finally learned that if I get the spacing perfect I just use the one side and call it a day. I never do the left then right side thing anymore. The trick is to use dial calipers to center the wood in the slots on the template then lock in the spacer bar to the edge of the wood. Works great!
