When an object is turned on a wood lathe that has a lid it is called a box. Go figure. Turners often like to warm up by turning delicate toy tops by using a four-jawed chuck as illustrated in the drawing. Either turning project requires the use of a good four-jawed turner's chuck. A word to the wise: always wear a face shield while turning. Work safely and have fun!
