This is one of the easiest chests to make. I like to use biscuits to hold the four sides together. The plywood bottom is dadoed in and the lid uses 80 pound spring-tension safety hinges. Another convenience – no mortise hinges. These are thin enough to just screw in place without mortises. This project typically takes about 10 hours to make, so it is a perfect gift!
