The Original T-SQUARE®

There are few names in the woodworking industry that stand for precision and quality the way that BIESEMEYER® does. Since the launch of the original T-SQUARE® in 1978, BIESEMEYER quickly created the precision fence category and still remains the undisputed leader. The easily identifiable design is the one that all others have come to copy and imitate. It is the standard by which all other fences are measured and identified.
A cabinet maker by trade, Mr. Biesemeyer was well in tune with what he perceived as an inept design which wasted not only material but valuable time as well. The design is simple, but true. It is based on the principle of the engineer’s t-square which is locked perpendicular to the blade with a single locking point. When properly installed, the woodworker can simply set the desired dimension on the measuring tape with the pointer and they will be guaranteed a precise cut to a 1/64" tolerance. Due to the unreliable nature of traditional fence systems, it was necessary to measure, square up, measure, cut and measure again. The BIESEMEYER T-SQUARE cut sawing time by up to 80%.
Mr. Biesemeyer began custom building every fence in a small 1,000 square-foot, 2-person shop in 1978. It wasn’t until 1980 when fate brought Bill Biesemeyer and veteran marketer Roger Thompson together. It was Roger’s ability to communicate to the masses that truly made BIESEMEYER the legend that it is today. Mr. Thompson began aggressively promoting the T-SQUARE fence on the Woodworking Shows cirquit. In 1982, he entered the product in the IWF Challenger’s Award and won the big prize. After this, the rest is woodworking history.

After the 1995 acquisition by DELTA, BIESEMEYER continues to be the leader in precision table saw fences with the T-SQUARE system. With the manufacturing operations now located in the DELTA | PORTER-CABLE facility in Jackson, Tennessee, BIESEMEYER is poised for continued success in the future. New and truly innovative products are on the horizon. All of these innovations will be sure to carry on the BIESEMEYER tradition of precision for decades to come.
